Finally I did a little refreshment to my blog! What you think? I'm still working in some details and some not finish pages, like the one for freebies and the one for the graphic design services ;) Now I'll be offering blog header design, custom background patterns, customs blogger templates, etc, to make your blog prettier ;) Sooo that is the plan! but still working on the details.
The last days I have been working in a couple of special projects, like the new calendars for 2011! (and honestly that make me a little sad because I cant believe 2010 is near to depart). I'm still working on my affirmation drawings but I cant show you all the drawings because I'm planning something super duper special with that project. And still doing my "daily" drawings and here and there I found time to squeeze a original canvas paint! Yeah... I know sound like I do a lot of things, and maybe is true, but so far I don't have kids and I can play the productive role ;)
OK. Enough talking. Let me show you some pictures.
This is my "daily drawing". It's more like a little "mixed media drawing". I painted the little birds in illustration board with ink. Everything was cute and perfect until I decide to start coloring some parts with my markers :S NOT a good idea. In some point I decided my plan totally fail and to save the birds I cut the part I already painted with the markers. I took some blue and green paint chip samples and glued on other card stock and put the birds on top of that. And ta-dah! I saved the birds ;)
And this one is my new love. I was painted this elephant to participate in the "Flora & Fauna" Exhibit" at the GroveHouse Artists Gallery but I didn't finish it one time :( sniff, sniff.. But it's OK. Now he is on my Etsy shop.
Ok. Now I have to prepare the Newsletter I'm going to send tomorrow to celebrate September. Next month is going to be super duper AWESOME!!!!

The inspiration behind my work
Sometimes the inspiration, ideas or solutions comes from really unexpected sources, right?
Here a few examples:
1.) This is the little drawing I made Tuesday. I have to recognize I’m a little bit silly and I laugh and enjoy really simple things. I made this little drawing because I like to have cute reminders of simple happy things around me in my studio. I put this drawing near my computer, and every time I turn my head and see the Little Owl, I just smile and say “hello” in my mind… Silly, right? But it’s cute and really make me smile :P
This owl was painted with acrylic and ink on a 6x6 illustration board
Little Owl ~ $15 + $3 shipping
2.) Yesterday morning, my sweet husband told me we’re going to have a sushi dinner that day. Me, big smile and instant happiness. Of course I spend the rest of the day just thinking and savoring the food in my mind. And of course, I draw some sushi because that was the only thing in my mind!
Also, yesterday when I was working on my sushi (the painting no cooking) a friend sent me this link. I was (I’m) so happy because The Storque decided to use my sushi drawing in that post! I swear was a big coincident!
Yummy sushi painted with markers and ink on 6x6 illustration board.
Sushi $22 + $3 shipping
3.) This week Spoonflower contest theme is “Tractor”. I wasn’t planning to participate because I can’t find a tractor and attractive subject for a design. I was explaining to my husband about the theme, and he told me: You should just put a picture of yourself and send it like your design for that theme. You know why that guy said that? Because he calls me “Little Tractor” because he say I made “little tractor” noises when I’m sleeping. ME??? No way ;) Sweet husband, right?
Sooo… I design a “Little Tractor” fabric.
You can see all the designs here.
See you later!!!

Spicing Summer ~ Artwork Giveaway!
Participate to win one of my original artwork!
I’m going to have Giveaways, special offers and freebies for you, here in my blog every Wednesday this August.
From August 18 to August 25, 2010 if you leave me a comment in this post, you will be automatically entered into the contest to win this original 3D piece!
This piece is made using my drawing style with ink and on watercolor paper with chipboard. Parts of the artwork are in separate layers making the piece 3D.
The image size is 5 x 5 and come in an 8 x 8 black mat.
Also, I want to tell you about other little project I’m working on! Because summer is almost over, I thought was time to clean up my studio and get ready to a fresh Fall-Winter season. During the cleaning process I found tons of pieces of illustrations boards and watercolor papers… and I couldn’t just throw away those materials! And I decide to play around and create a new little project.
Every day or every other day I will create a drawing using something for that big pile of materials, and I’m going to be selling those “daily” drawings here on my blog!
Here the first daily drawing for sale :)
I made these cute little trees in a 6x11 illustration board with watercolor and ink.

Affirmations
I totally believe positive affirmations can work serious magic. I know that… but I know sometimes it’s super hard to keep positive 100%. Yeah.. I have been saying the same all the time, right? But honestly I have been working a lot in try to switch my mind when negative or not pleasant thoughts come to visit me. I realize the best way to focus in a positive affirmation is seeing it and repeating in mind (or aloud if you prefer!). Finally last week I start to work in a “daily” affirmation drawing (let see if I can do one per day!). The idea is to create tons of drawings with affirmations and someday create like cards or maybe a book with all those drawings. Let see see what happens!
Here my first drawing, and the print is in my shop ;)
