Surprise

Last week was insanely busy, shocking and great at the same time J I have thousand of things to share with you but I think will be better if I do it little by little, ok?

Let’s start with some simple pictures. I want to show you a little bit of my drawing process. Right now, one of the pieces on my table is a collaboration piece I’m doing with my friend Margie Bauer. These are the very first stages of the drawing. I’ll try to remember to take more pictures during the process!

Last week I didn’t have the chance to work in my weekword drawings L So, today I decide to make a mix with one drawings I already made and the quote “expect a surprise” (because the weekword was surprise). Every morning before get out of the bed I’m trying to think and imagine what I’ll desire for this day… and the feeling of “expecting a surprise” is kind of excited, don’t you think?

OK. This all for this day. Please, come back on Wednesday because to celebrate July I will have:

- A super duper giveaway

- Shop update

- A cool offer

… and who knows… maybe you can expect a surprise too!

It's my dream

7 or 8 years ago, my little niece (she is 12 now!) was telling one of her dreams. At that point I found really funny, interesting and unreal her little story and I told her: “Dani, you can’t had that dream because you’re only 4 years old”. And she just looked at me really serious and said: “Valen, it’s my dream, ok? MY DREAM”

I woke up today thinking about that little story and it’s so truth! Nobody can tell you what you should dream, right? It’s your dream :)
In honor of my OWN BIG DREAMS I made these 2 prints…

And you? Which are your dreams?

Happy Wednesday!

Family Tree

This week word is FAMILY. I can talk hours and hours and hours about what my family means to me and how wonderful they are. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately if you don’t want to read my loooong ramblings!) I’m a little bit busy today… Soooo… this is my perfect drawing for FAMILY:

(NOTE: You can get your Family Tree Digital Kit, in my shop. Click here)

Fill up your own Family Tree! Or maybe I can start to create custom families tress.. I think I like this idea! ;)

I think you can always create you family tree with the names... or maybe you can do something more fun, like my personal family tree. What you think :) I *LOVE* these people very very very much (I didn’t put the picture of my little niece because she is only one year old and I'm not sure if his dad will like that!)

Getting out of my comfort zone

I usually don’t draw in big size pieces because my work in highly detail and I’m afraid of getting out of my “comfort zone”. I feel pretty good working with my standard formats. They are easy to work and I can carry my work anywhere and work in almost any place. Everything was working perfect, till the day I decide to toy around with a 20 x 24 canvas. Holly Cannoli! You want to know why I have been a bad blogger?
This is the reason:

20 x 24… Why I do this to myself? Because I love to push myself and see how far I can get ;) AND, as you can see, it's not ready and have to be ready this thursday...

And you know what are these?

6 canvases, 14 x 18… And guess what? I have to have all these pieces beautifully ready in 18 days. Yeap… I’m not sure how much hair I’m going to lose or how many hours I’m not going to sleep. But one thing is sure, I’m super duper happy for all these amazing opportunities and I totally believe I’m going to be a fulltime artist, soon, really soon... (I’m almost there!)
I have to run right now, but don’t worry, I’m going to tell your tomorrow for what I’m doing these pieces.
See ya!
