The Carnaval festival was awesome! We had tons of fun (and hard work!). I’ll share a little bit more about the weekend (and the way I displayed my work)
Right now I have to try to put my studio in order and catch up with my Etsy orders.

Happy Monday!

Aaron and The Birds

Happy day after Valentine’s Day! Well… yesterday I was super busy and totally forgot to write e sweet lovely post to celebrate Valentine’s day!. What you did yesterday? To me was a normal day fill with work and other cool things like the birth of a new niece! My brother in law and her wife had a new baby girl yesterday! I was joking they should call her Valentina, just to honor Valentine’s day … but they dismiss my sweet suggestion idea ;)

This week I’m going to be pretty busy because the first weekend of March, I’ll be having selling in an Art Festival here in Miami. I’m kind of scare because this will be my first full weekend show and still I have NO IDEA how I will display my work in the walls. All suggestion are super duper welcome ;) I’ll have a 10x10 tent (with the 3 “walls”) but I need some kind of panels to hang my work… and there is where my mind is a little stuck. I want something easy to install and transport… If you have an idea what I can do, PLEASE, let me know ;)

Before I continue my “I have to paint tons of canvas” marathon, I want to show you 2 things:

1.- I really finished Aaron

Aaron Original paitining

2.- I made and added to my shop a set of 9 photo prints with my 9 birds (each photo size is 4x6) These looks great in frames.

I know I draw way to many animals. I know I have to mix up a little bit the subjects
… But I think nature is soo inspiring, I cant help ;)

Here Mr. Pavo Real. I first drew him in watercolor paper with ink and after that I scanned and colored it in Illustrator.

A new friend...

Hi there! How are you? How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good... I finally finished a new friend for my personal zoo. Meet the zebra, "Why, hello there gorgeous" (acrylic and ink on 10x10 canvas). And if you are wondering about the name, ask Mr. Harper (aka the husband), he is the new person in charge of naming my artwork ;)

One bird, Four Drawings

One day I was looking for a picture of a blue bird to make a drawing for The Creative Color Challenge. I found a cute little bird and I painted this:

The Blue bird

A couple of days ago I was looking into my files and I found the picture of the cute little bird and I decide to draw the bird again but this time I had other idea in mind. I wanted to draw the bird but he supposed to be talking about the things he sees every day, like flowers and trees… And I made this drawing

random-talking-original

After the black and white version of this little bird talking totally random things, I scanned the original piece (I made it in watercolor paper with ink) and added some color in Illustrator

Random Talking

And after I finished coloring the piece, I thought will be funny having a bird asking you to please talk to him, and I create this print
BTW, Urban Outfitters has selected this Print "Talk to Me" to be included in the Print Shop on printshop.urbanoutfitters.com! Check it here ;)

Talk to me print

And why I really thought a bird talking will be funny? Because I imagined a t-shirt like this one and in my mind, it’s funny ;)

And now that little picture I found in August have 4 different interpretations ;)
Happy weekend!

few things...

Thanks for all the sweet comments about my case’s designs at Target. It’s super excited when you see your work in some real products and in a place like Target. It’s a great experience.
Last Saturday, I only found one of my cases at Target because they already sold all the cases with my little bird design (super super cool!). I was planning to go to other Target and check if they have both, but lucky my, Jeanee from Dirty Laundry sent me these pictures, Thank you!

OK. Now I have to go because I have a something really cool to do… I’m going to get a massage! Yeap… I’m super busy but I have to take some free time and go to pamper myself with my hubby money ;)
On my last birthday, my husband (my boyfriend at that time.. btw, you know I got engaged on my b-day?, yes, in front of everybody in an Italian restaurant, but that is other story) gave me a spa gift certificate. My birthday was on JANUARY… I think I have to go to use the certificate RIGHT NOW before expire. Soooo… no more excuses… time to get a refreshing deep tissue massage.
But before I leave, I want to show you what I have been doing lately…

Paiting and painting...

December 6… when this happen? Christmas is going to be here in less than 20 days (in the blink of an eye!), and I think I have to start doing some shopping… or getting seriously crafty and work on some presents!.
Hopefully, 5 days before Christmas, I will start feeling the urge to take care of the presents and just focus on that… In the meantime, I’m enjoying creating and stocking tons of new artwork. I don’t know why, but I have the feeling I need to produce a big amount of body of work right now. It’s like something in my head is telling me that right now it’s my moment to create... no idea why, but I will pay attention to my gut feeling, the holiday presents can wait ;)

And here my last creation ;)
Looks like I have a theme going on here…

Normal life

Vacation in town is over. My sister and brother in law left Sunday morning and I’m sad… SAD. Well, today I’m almost recovered, but the last days were bad :S You know when you’re a teenager and you had that big love? You remember when the love just last a semester and your heart was soooo broke? And you felt you will never recover? I was that sad :P But it’s ok, we still love each other :) And hopefully I don’t will have to wait 8 years to see her again!

Sooo.. normal life is slowing coming back. I think October is going to be pretty busy and that is always good.

Right now I have to finish this

work in progress

And this

And paint 12 [TWELVE] of this…
