You want to know a little bit more about how I do my artwork?
Well here the basic 5 easy steps ;)
1.- I cover my canvases with newspaper and paper maché
2.- Paint the background
3.- With a pencil I draw whatever I’m planning to paint.
4.- Put some color
5.- My favorite part, tons and tons of little details with black ink.
Happy Monday!

i LOVE the part about covering the canvas with newspaper, valentina! i can't stand painting on raw canvas but i love painting on paper and grocery bags because of the texture. thank you for the tips -- i'm off to share this post! xoxoxo aimee
Thanks Aimee!
Yes, I love love covering the canvas with newspaper. The texture is great and I love seeing pieces of the newsletter under the paint ;)
Thank you Aimee posting this wonderful artist on Facebook...I adore her (your) work Valentina. I love that you cover your canvas with newspaper too.
Thank you Cindy!
Me encanta ver tu proceso creativo.
:)
Gracias Esti! Tu trabajo es espectacular :)
It's always fun seeing the process used by other artists. Love it.
I love this Valentina!! The added "mystery" of the newspaper and what it says underneath is intriguing : )
Hi there;
I LOVE your stuff!
Just wondering if you'd share what kind of ink/pens that you use?
I love the outcome of these canvases. Thanks so much for showing us the process, it inspires me to try using newspaper as a base.
Lee:)
Hey thre Valentina...
I am curious, what ink pens do you use on your painted canvas. I too use ink pens on some of my canvases (usually a 8.0 Rotring Isograph). Do you then varnish?
Regards
Lorrie
