One of my big dreams-plans this year is to start designing fabrics. I would love to create designs to be use in pillows, curtains, tablecloth, bags, everything! But usually I have like 3 millions of ideas in mind and I can’t find the way to just concentrate in the basic things, like: sit down, draw, create a pattern, order the fabric. Maybe I haven’t start with this project because I’m afraid is not going to work out, or my designs are not going to be good, or nobody will like my fabrics, or whatever!.
Yesterday I decide I *REALLY* want to give this a try and I took some of my existing designs and sent to SpoonFlower to print and make placemats. I think printing this small amount of fabric for a specific project will help me to visualize better my designs in fabric and get some feedback before I start covering my apartment in yards and yards of fabric J I just got married, I don’t want Andrew “discover” my plan of converting our place in a huge storage room for my art!
Here you can see a little bit of the designs I just order. Let see how they look… and let see if I find somebody who can help me to make the placemats, because this girl don’t have idea how to sew :P
P.S: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all the amazing comments and emails from my blogging friends and new friends J Between dreaming on fabric and a cold I’m behind answering the messages. If you wrote me the last weeks, I promises I’ll write you back soon soon soon!.
Happy Wednesday!

I was so happy to see your comment Valentina - you're one of mi artistas favoritas! Definitely go for fabric - i think it's the perfect medium for your work. xo
Fabric is a great idea Valentina! And also...my prints came, and they're beautiful! I can't tell you how excited I am to get to decorating! Thank you thank you! By the way, my friend Nicole is coming over, and she's a great seamstress-send your fabric to Chicago and we'll get those placemats whipped up!
Good luck with this project! I definitely would love to have a pillow of your design.
I'd be happy to sew them for you if you'd like. Just send them to Arkansas and I'll fix you up.
I love your fabric designs! Gorgeous! I also have been wanting to try Spoonflower for a while, maybe this will be a good springtime project! I can totally relate to having too many ideas, and not knowing where to start! :)
I love the idea of seeing your work on fabric!! I would definitely find a way to incorporate/make a throw pillow to brighten up a room. The possibilities with fabric are endless. I would be honored to sew the placemats for you.
You are amazing! Good luck!

i share your challenge of trying to focus on what to do first! i always have at least 100 things on my priority list....and i still haven't figured out how to get them all done at once!! i'm SO glad that you've decided to take your artwork to the next level and print some fabric....that's a fabulous idea!! :))
you & fabric sound like an INSPIRED match. these are beautiful for sure! i totally understand about the millions being overwhelming. i might add to take in one gorgeous gifted breath & weave in one fabric step at a time.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Your designs will transfer beautifully to fabric, and I predict people will line up to buy them. Take a peek at my blog, I featured you on February 25th - thanks for all the inspiration!!
