Keeping myself on track

This year, I need tons of inspirations and strength to reach my goals. Sometimes (many times!) it's not easy to just keep working, balance everything and feel like you are really doing everything according your plans. I believe I’m a positive girl, but still I have tons of doubts moments in normal basis. In order to keep focus, positive and inspired, I decide to surround myself with tons of inspirational images. I know some people find my “positive” attitude kind of funny or/and weird, but I don’t really care J I believe life will be a lot better if people can see the bright side and act according that. Make sense? Maybe no, but it's ok J

Fabrics?

One of my big dreams-plans this year is to start designing fabrics. I would love to create designs to be use in pillows, curtains, tablecloth, bags, everything! But usually I have like 3 millions of ideas in mind and I can’t find the way to just concentrate in the basic things, like: sit down, draw, create a pattern, order the fabric. Maybe I haven’t start with this project because I’m afraid is not going to work out, or my designs are not going to be good, or nobody will like my fabrics, or whatever!.

Yesterday I decide I *REALLY* want to give this a try and I took some of my existing designs and sent to SpoonFlower to print and make placemats. I think printing this small amount of fabric for a specific project will help me to visualize better my designs in fabric and get some feedback before I start covering my apartment in yards and yards of fabric J I just got married, I don’t want Andrew “discover” my plan of converting our place in a huge storage room for my art!

Here you can see a little bit of the designs I just order. Let see how they look… and let see if I find somebody who can help me to make the placemats, because this girl don’t have idea how to sew :P

Seeking Inspiration

I have to work in some pieces for a couple of Springs Art Show. My main inspiration right now are these beautiful flowers in my studio J *LOVE* it. (Thanks Andrew :) )

Sooo.. of course I start drawings some flowers… And I realize we’re still in winter! I mean.. almost everybody is living in winter temps right now. And I know I suppose to be working in the pieces I need to have ready in a couple of week, but I couldn’t help but create this print to beat the winter blue ;)

OK. Now, going back to the main point of this post. I have been working in flowers and fishes the last months. I still have 3 more fishes panels to finish, but I’m looking for more “Spring” inspiration. What else I can paint? What you will want to see with my ink style?

Happy Weekend!

Today was a good day ;) After a week setting up my studio, I finally got time to do some little work. These prints are ready in my shop!

And this weekend is going to be good!. Hopefully, I will:

- Visit the Coconut Grove Art Festival
- A little trip to IKEA
- Find my way between all the boxes in out new place
-Indulge myself with some donuts or cupcakes

I have been moving the last 5 days and I’m in the process of setting up my little studio. As soon I’m ready, I’ll share a few pictures of the new place and new artwork.

I love you because...

I’m not so much into Valentine’s Day but I guess this year is a little bit different because I just got married :P and I have tons of reasons to celebrate love.
